Tornado D2 is currently stands on the 3rd place, their Friday opponent, KSC Wiedikon D3 at the 8th. The experience levels are different, Wiedikon’s team is full of young players, while the Tornado ladies have a lot of battles under their sleeves already.
The game on Friday started with a strong series of 7 serves from Tornado’s captain, Corina Carabelli. This helped to jumpstart the whole game with a quick win in the first set.
The young Wiedikon ladies showed their potential in the beginning of the second set, and the two teams were collecting points head-to-head for a while. However, this is not the first rodeo of Tornado D2, who tuned up their game and won the set. Lea Debeljak’s blocks are worth a special mention.
The game in the third set continued as in the previous ones. The spectators could enjoy few long rallies and impressive attacks from both teams, but the end result was similar to before. Tornado won the set confidently, earning them another 3 points in the championship.
